The Kaminski House in historic Georgetown was originally built in the late 18th on a bluff overlooking the Sampit River. The home is one of the premier historic homes in the area and has been a silent witness to key moments throughout the history of the lowcountry. The “single house” style home was owned by several prominent families until it was bought by Harold and Julia Kaminski in 1931. The Kaminski’s updated the house through a series of renovations that both expanded and modernized the property. In her will, Julia left the house to the city in the hopes that it be preserved. That wish has been granted, as the home currently stands as a testament to the generations of growth along historic Front Street.
Today, the Kaminski House offers guests stunning views, rich local history, a variety of community events, and a picturesque waterfront wedding venue; something that visitors of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy.
