Join Drayton Hall for an Indigo Dyeing Class with Pluff Mud Farms! Guests will learn the process and techniques for dyeing fabric with the historically significant plant inside the Lenhardt Garden in our Education Pavilion. During this workshop guests will have the choice between dying a table runner or 4 napkins and a tea towel.

 

 

Located on scenic Wadmalaw Island just outside Charleston, Pluff Mud Farm is dedicated to preserving and sharing the Lowcountry’s indigo heritage. The farm cultivates and processes indigofera, continuing a centuries-old South Carolina tradition of natural dyeing. Blending sustainability with storytelling, Pluff Mud Farm celebrates indigo as both a cultural legacy and a living craft deeply rooted in the Lowcountry landscape.
