26 May 2017 - 10 June 2017
84 award-winning South Carolina artists are busy producing works of art to show at the 38th Annual Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Art Exhibition in beautiful Marion Square in downtown Charleston. This juried outdoor art show is open daily from May 26, 2017 through June 10, 2017, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Friday through Sunday. The art exhibition features original artwork by 84 award-winning South Carolina artists working in 2-dimensional art mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media and encaustic. There is no admittance fee, artists are on site each day, and all art is available for sale.
After the first weekend, the show offers 2 free art demonstrations daily at 11:00 am and 2:30 pm, except on Sundays when almost every artist is painting. Enjoy this festive and creative atmosphere along with these free art lessons in one of Charleston's largest public outdoor spaces -- historic Marion Square.
The outdoor art exhibition is a part of the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, which runs concurrently with Spoleto Festival USA each year. Whether you're in Charleston for the festivals or just visiting, come join us in Marion Square for this once-a-year event. The Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Art Exhibition is the perfect opportunity for the art lover in everyone!
