CHARLESTON, S.C. – Head coach Chris Mack earned his 300th career win as the Cougars secured a double bye in the 2025 Jersey Mike's CAA Championship with a 94-84 win over Delaware on Thursday night in TD Arena.

Delaware jumped out to an 8-3 lead before the Cougars offense caught fire. Deywilk Tavarez tied the contest at 11-11 on a triple with 14 minutes to play before another three from Derrin Boyd gave Charleston their first lead of the contest at 16-15 on another three.

A 15-0 run behind back-to-back buckets from Lazar Djokovic and more Tavarez and Boyd triples forced a Delaware timeout.

The Cougars took their largest lead of the half 35-21, ending the frame going 3-3 from the field to take a 43-34 edge into the locker room. The Cougars shot 56% from the field in the frame, led by Ante Brzovic with nine points.

The teams opened the half going a combined 6-6 from the field, trading points back-and-forth. The Blue Hens came within two at 56-54 with ten minutes to play. Catalyst plays from CJ Fulton including coast-to-coast driving layup and dagger three helped separate Charleston.

The Cougars ended the game going 5-6 from the field to hold on for the 94-84 behind a 65% second half shooting effort.

Charleston, now 22-8,  will host Campbell on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in the Cougars' final regular season game before the CAA Championship in Washington, D.C.

With the win, Charleston has secured a double bye in the upcoming conference tournament. Saturday results from around the league will determine the Cougars' final seeding.
