ESPN Charleston Classic Now In Its 17th Year
Field Includes Eight Teams, Two Four Team Brackets, With Clemson Representing Palmetto State

Sponsored by Shriners Children's, the ESPN Charleston Classic, an annual early-season NCAA Division I men's college basketball tournament takes place this weekend at TD Arena (home of the College of Charleston Cougars). The tournament features eight teams and, starting this year is structured with two separate four-team brackets played on Friday and Championship Sunday.
Now in its 17th year, the Classic continues to draw some of the most storied college basketball teams to Charleston. The 2025 line-up includes two separate four-team brackets running concurrently on Nov. 21 and 23. The Palmetto Bracket features Clemson, Georgia, West Virginia, & Xavier, with the Lowcountry Bracket showcasing Boston College, Davidson, Tulane, & Utah State.
Utah and Tulane kick off the tournament with a contest set for 1pm on Friday. Clemson takes on West Virginia at 6:30pm Friday night. Davidson and Boston College play in the afternoon (3:30pm) game, leaving Georgia and Xavier the 9pm matchup to close out day one. Final round games begin at 1pm on Sunday.
