CHARLESTON, S.C. – Minor League Baseball and Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc., announced the nine recipients of the 2026 Rawlings Gold Glove Award® on Monday, with Charleston RiverDogs catcher Caden Bodine earning the honor among catchers across all 11 full-season Minor Leagues.

The award recognizes defensive excellence, with one winner selected at each position. Each recipient will receive a Rawlings Gold Glove Award, modeled after the iconic award presented to Major League Baseball's top defensive players, during the 2027 season.

In total, Bodine recorded 804 total chances, including 736 putouts and 58 assists, across 81 games behind the plate with Single-A Charleston, High-A Bowling Green, Double-A Montgomery and Triple-A Durham. In 708 innings as a catcher, Bodine threw out 30 of 130 runners attempting to steal and posted a .988 fielding percentage. In the process, he became the only Tampa Bay Rays minor leaguer to play in 10 or more games for all four full-season affiliates in a single season since at least 2005.

The 22-year-old was originally selected by the Baltimore Orioles in Compensation Round A (30th overall) of the 2025 MLB Draft out of Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C. He was traded to Tampa Bay on Dec. 19, 2025, in exchange for right-handed pitcher Shane Baz.

Bodine was also named the Rays' Minor League Co-Player of the Year in 2026. He finished his year on the Rays' big-league taxi squad, capping an impressive season across the organization.
