ORLANDO, FL – The South Carolina Stingrays kept their unbeaten start alive, taking down the Orlando Solar Bears, 5-3, Saturday night at the Kia Center.

The Stingrays recorded a power-play goal for the fourth straight game to start the season, converting on four of their six chances, with Tyler Weiss notching two goals. The South Carolina penalty kill stayed perfect, shutting down all five of the Solar Bear opportunities.

With three seconds remaining on South Carolina's first power play, Weiss ripped a one-timer from the slot into the back of the net, giving the Stingrays the first lead of the game with ten minutes remaining in the opening period. Less than two minutes later and back on the man advantage, Weiss recorded his second power-play goal of the game to make it 2-0 South Carolina.

With three minutes remaining in the first period, Orlando's Connor Eddy had a breakaway and netted the Solar Bears' first even strength goal of the season and their first of the game, cutting the lead in half heading into the second period.

With 5:27 remaining in the middle frame, the Solar Bears cashed in on a centering feed to tie the game at two. The Stingrays' attack went quiet until a power play in the final three minutes of the second period, when Jalen Luypen netted the team's third power-play goal of the night to retake the lead, 3-2. Ben Kraws made 10 saves in the second as South Carolina took the lead into the final frame.

The power play stayed hot in the third period, with Zack Andrusiak sniping his first goal as a Stingray to extend the lead to 4-2 with 13:08 left in regulation.

With 11 minutes remaining, Orlando's Aaron Luchuk snapped a shot from the point that was tipped in front by Colton Kammerer, making it a one-goal game once again.

A high-sticking penalty on the Solar Bears with 2:36 remaining delayed Orlando from pulling its goaltender until the final minute, but Cam Morrisson sealed the win for South Carolina with an empty-net goal with 20 seconds remaining.

Kraws made 27 saves on the night, earning the win in his third consecutive start. The Stingrays start their season 4-0-0-0 for the first time since the 2017-18 campaign,
