Author & Psychoanalyst Mikita Brottman Re-examines The Anatomy of a Premeditated Murder

In her latest book 'A Double Life: Anatomy of a Premeditated Murder', acclaimed non-fiction author and psychoanalyst Mikita Brottman revisits the brutal murder of Teresa Sievers, a 46 year old woman who was bludgeoned to death with a hammer 17 times back in 2015. 

The decade old crime that captured national headlines, resulted in the the arrest and sentencing of three men, including the two who carried out the attack, and her husband Mark accused of masterminding the entire murder, resulting in a death sentence despite his rock solid absence from the crime scene.

A respected doctor and owner of a prosperous holistic medical practice, was Mark jealous of Teresa's rising celebrity and growing inner circle. Or did the couple have financial troubles, and Mark was hoping to cash in on several insurance policies with huge payouts? So many scenarios, leaving several unanswered questions.

Brottman does a further deep dive into their mindset several years removed from the crime, as well into the secondary characters, i.e, parents, girlfriends, and associates, that shaped and supported the three men sitting behind bars, revisiting the police reports and the investigative process as well. As is her usual manner, Brottman relishes in the unconscious mind, leaving few stones unturned into her probe leading to Teresa's murder.

Given her background in psychoanalysis, Brottman proposes 'could of, would of, and should of'' behind the scenes discoveries, offering readers updates on the three men, current statistics on prison terms, and incarcerations, in addition to information on the how long it takes to carry out death sentences, including perspectives from those awaiting execution. All startling revelations.
