Coastal Carolina Fair Returns Thurs Oct 29th thru Sun Nov 8th (2)
While Annual 11 Day Lowcountry Event Offers Up Rides, Exhibits, Entertainment, & Food, Proceeds Benefit Local Community Long After

Organized and operated entirely by volunteers from the Exchange Club of Charleston, the annual Coastal Carolina Fair serves as the club's primary fundraiser to support local Lowcountry non-profit charities, scholarships, and community program. In 2026 the 11 day fall event takes place from Thursday Oct 29th thru Sunday Nov 8th.
Covering 180 acres the fair attracts close to 300k visitors each and every year, including kids of all ages. No doubt all attend for different reasons, but those who do come out, they come out for the shear majesty and spectacle the fair presents. And perhaps no one does it better than the Exchange Club of Charleston.
Just like Isle of Palms and Folly Beach need the reef, the Coastal Carolina Fair relies on the REEF i.e. Rides, Exhibits, Entertainment, & Food. Together those four elements make up the fair.
Covering the front side of the park including a smaller kids area, and the larger midway section near the back side, the fair offers up over 65 family friendly carnival rides. There are rides to fit every comfort level including classic Ferris wheels, a chair lift, and high-adrenaline thrill rides (such as large drop towers and fast-spinning attractions).
The exhibits include displays in fine art, photography, creative arts, flower shows and more, with a separate area set apart for farm animals housed in the barns and petting zoos. It's a great way to see how creative the Charleston is, and to witness first hand the importance farmers mean to the local community.
Among the regular featured events this year include Universal Championship 4-H demonstrations, Wrestling, Magician TJ Hill, The Americana 250 Band Organ, a Chili Cookoff, King Arthur Baking Contest, and a Cowboy Circus, as well as best all around honey and the 7th Annual Fiddle Competition. With art shows displaying works fom youth and adults, there is something for everyone to enjoy at the Coastal Carolina Fair.
Entertainment runs the gamut, with featured acts performing daily and live nightly musical performances on regional stages including headlining artists on the Lakefront stage. The best thing about seeing a particular show, any and all concert performances are included free with paid gate. Totally awesome.
What about the food. Many people visit the fair yearly just to sample the unique food items offered up, as well as the classic festival fare such as funnel cakes and elephant ears, alongside an array of deep-fried treats. It's easier to list the varieties of foods not represented at the fair.
From a bacon station to cheese on stick, a sushi bar to roasted corn in a cup, and from fried Oreos to turkey legs and pulled pork there's something to satisfy every taste. Nearly 100 food and beverage concessions to tantalize the taste buds. Hey, the fair comes to town only once a year, 'take a walk on the wild & wacky food side'.
Straight ahead beer and craft brew lovers take note, the much trafficked Beer Gardens (two total) return. The larger covered garden sits up front near the main gate, complete with TVs to catch the game, and live music almost non-stop. An additional beer garden sits closer to the entrance to the midway. Enjoy and drink responsibly.
The Coastal Carolina Fair goes out of their way to accommodates every age group. Join them on Wed Nov 4th from 10am - 2pm for 'A Day at the Fair Together!', as Senior Day celebrates adults age 55 and older with a special, less-crowded opportunity to enjoy the fairgrounds, connect with community organizations, and learn about services and resources for older adults. Exceptional children and caregivers are welcome. For more on that visit

With all the glitz and glamour the Coastal Carolina Fair presents the underlying goal is their commitment to give back to the community. Over the years the Exchange Club of Charleston through proceeds from the fair have given millions of dollars to worthy local causes.
Berkeley Seniors, the Dorchester Child Advocacy Center, Metanoia, Dorchester Habitat for Humanity, and the Low Country Food Bank are just a few of the 50 plus neighborhood organizations that have benefitted from charitable contributions from the fair.
The Exchange Club of Charleston along with the fine staff and volunteers at the Coastal Carolina Fair like to say 'supporting the fair supports supports our community'. While you're flying high in the sky, maybe enjoying some crazy carnival foods, taking in a concert, or trying to desperately win that stuffed animal for your five year old, it's nice to know that some of the money your spending gets returned to local groups that desperately need our support.
Just think, while you're riding the Ferris wheel high in the sky, checking out all the exhibits, enjoying the petting zoo with your kids, and chowing down on some interesting foods, your money is helping support the local community. Not only are you experiencing the fair, you're giving back which is only fair. For all the Coastal Carolina Fair has to offer this year visit https://coastalcarolinafair.org/fair-home/
