'Larry the Cable Guy' Brings Relatable Comedy To North Charleston

Veteran Stand-up Along With Seasoned Comic Nick Hoff Provide 90 Minutes of Non-Stop Funny To PAC

Jeff Walker,  Entertainment Writer

Nearly four decades into a stellar career comic actor Larry the Cable Guy continues to be fully in tune with his fan base. Sunday (Jan 18th) night the stand up comedian known for his catchphrase 'Git-R-Done', brought his brand of comedy to the North Charleston Performing Arts Center, much to the delight of 1500 plus in attendance.

Early on Larry offered up his show leans toward a PG13 audience, meaning he had 'pretty good material for 13 minutes', and it was time to go. That was just a pre-cursor to 60 minutes of non-stop laughter, as he interacted with the audience, all the while turning the comedy on himself.

Larry is not afraid to make fun at his own expense, offering up funny bits about his physique, getting prostate exams, doctors visits over 60, his golf game, or distinguishing his real voice from that of Mater (like tomater w/o the to) on a Disney cruise ship. The very reason he was part of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour is because Larry is relatable, and fans of his stand alone comedy get it.

Seasoned stand up comic Nick Hoff has been entertaining crowds for over 20 years, and was hand picked to tour with Larry and Jeff Foxworthy on several occasions. Quick witted and personable, Nick provided sensational support for Larry, warming the audience up for a solid 30 minutes of non-stop comedy.

Whether Nick's making fun of relationships, bad parenting, or stewardesses (sorry maam I know it's flight attendant), his jokes are engaging and topical. His style of humor offered an ideal segue for the main attraction, and together the two veteran comics left the crowd laughing for 90 minutes. If you love to laugh and want to take your mind off what's happening in the real world, I highly recommend taking in their show.

If you haven't seen or heard of Nick Hoff, he's definitely worth catching when he appears at a comedy club near you.
