Charleston Recognized as One of the Best Cities for Beer Drinkers

We all know Charleston is a drinking town, so it should come as no surprise that the Holy City was named the 17th best city for beer drinkers by SmartAsset, a financial technology company.

To create their list, the website looked at a total of five factors to rank the best cities for beer drinkers. They looked at the number of breweries, breweries per 100,000 residents, bars per 10,000 residents, the average number of beers per brewery, and the average price of beer.

Here is some data the website tabulated about the Holy City:
The average price of a pint is $3.50.
There are 9.3 microbreweries per 100,000.
The average number of beers per brewery is 26.77.
There are 24.2 bars per 10,000 residents.

Here's the top 10 list the website came up with:
1. Portland, OR
2. Asheville, NC
3. Portland, ME
4. Cincinnati, OH
5. Bend, OR
6. Duluth, MN
7. Denver, CO
8. Seattle, WA
