You can order a flight, a pint, a mallo-monkey with a flaming marshmellow on top, Pumpkin Spice (seasonal only), or Death By Mango which will get your name on the Wall Of Flame. Ghost Monkey Brewery in Mt. Pleasant, SC has designed a beer, Death By Mango, which is spiced with peppers that will make your butt pucker cuz the peppers are supplied by Ed Currie owner of The PuckerButt Pepper Company. We’re talking Carolina Reaper peppers. In 2017, Guinness World Records gave the title of World's Hottest Chili to the Carolina Reaper. If you finish the pint (10 minutes to drink it and an additional 10 minutes after your final gulp) you don’t pay for it, you get your name on the Wall of Flame, and a pin that lets the world know you survived DEATH BY MANGOS. Over 120 challenges were requested last year and over ½ didn’t have to ante up so this year it’s going to get hotter. Yes, record heat at Ghost Monkey Brewery. The keg is ready and waiting and when it’s done, it’s done until October of 2023. For those of you who wish not to combat the reaper, Ghost Monkey Brewery offers a delicious, regular version of Death By Mango.

The Barbary macaque population in Gibraltar is the only wild monkey population on the European continent. Cute little monkeys that get up close and personal. They jump on your shoulders, grab your hair, smile for the camera, and steal your souvenirs like a ghost. There one second, gone the next. One of the Ghost Monkey Brewery owners lost a bag of souvenirs on that rock in Gibraltar years ago but gained a sensational name for a brewery built with a vision based on generosity and quality- great beers and making a difference in their community.
When I walked in the first time, here’s what I thought – Asheville sort of laid back vibe, plenty of room for a gathering when I return with friends, I’m bringing my doggie, and I might have to grow some for the Death By Mango challenge.
Got in my car, went to their website, and liked on facebook. Now I’m hooked into all their “sip and stuff” events. Oktoberfest – October 14th 15th – beer, food, and music. Nobody raises their mug until the Ghost Monkey says so.
