ApexPro Football League Unveil SC Seawolves Logo & 2027 Plans
New League Built Around Immersive Game-day Production & Fan Experience Featuring Pro Football & Technology-Enhanced Engagement

While they don't kickoff their first games until spring of 2027, the all new ApexPro Football League (APFL) kicked off (pun intended) their launch party Friday (Feb 27) at Union Station in downtown Charleston. The upstart league with corporate offices in Mount Pleasant begin with four teams including the Virginia Battle, Louisiana Venom, New York Demolition, and the South Carolina Seawolves.
The evening soiree was also a logo reveal for the Seawolves. Although the basics are similar to college and professional football, the APFL is being built around one core idea, an immersive, world-class game-day fan experience. Every APFL event is designed to feel bigger than a traditional football game, with themed environments, live entertainment, character performers, in-game production, and interactive activations that create a full-day experience for fans and families.
Furthermore, as their website proclaims the mission of the ApexPro Football League is to deliver high-performance American football through a revolutionary experience that blends athletic excellence and a theatrical fan-fueled spectacle, igniting passion, inspiring cultural connection, and building a bold global brand rooted in competition, creativity, and community. Sounds like a family friendly entertainment football league.
Our vision for the APFL starts with creating the most exciting and immersive fan experience in football," said Chad Hitchcock, Founding Member of the ApexPro Football League. "From the moment fans arrive to the moment they leave, we want APFL game days to be unforgettable while still delivering great football and meaningful innovation."
If future games are anything like the launch party and Seawolves logo reveal, the APFL lived up to their hype. A 100 plus people came out to be entertained by a over zealous pirate, a DJ, and the Midnight City band, all the while enjoying good food and drink. It was definitely a festive atmosphere which the executive team and the SC coach hope will carry over into the league's games.
The South Carolina Seawolves, the league's first announced team, will serve as a cornerstone franchise in the Charleston region and help set the tone for the APFL's signature festival-style game-day environment. Although the APFL is beginning with four teams with a six game season, followed by post-season playoff, they hope to expand as interest and demand grows.
For locals in the greater Charleston area, the SC Seawolves will play three home games at the Citadel's Johnson Hagood Stadium. And again, the founders and the staff plan to make each and every game interactive, from the parking lot to the vendors, and from the stands to the playing field. They encourage the players to embody the same sentiment.
Simply put, this is not your grandfather's or even your father's football game. Rather the ApexPro Football League is a bold new venture where the fans become part of the overall experience. Can you feel the excitement?
South Carolina's first game is a year out, but the league is hoping you'll feel the buzz or in this case a haunting, high-pitched howl as the Seawolves slowly begin to build their brand in the lowcountry. And yes, they are seeking local partnerships, so don't be afraid to contact them.
