2024 Cooper River Bridge Run Design Winner Announced

Charleston, SC – The votes have been counted and it’s officially time to reveal the winning design for the 47th Cooper River Bridge Run, presented by Harris Teeter, held on April 6, 2024. The final contest winner is Melanie Behnert, an aspiring graphic designer based here in Charleston.

Melanie’s unique style combines illustration with graphic design, often including vivid colors like those featured in this year’s winning design. The stunning sunset, a daily reminder of how lucky we are to call Charleston home, provides the perfect backdrop for a race-ready pelican. The bridge spans the skyline as well, standing in anticipation of the thousands of racers who will soon pound its pavement.

Melanie credits her hiatus from artwork, spent completing her education and entering the work force, for her launch back into the design world. During these years, she enjoyed the freedom to travel the world, and it’s the inspiration she gained from other cultures that has truly helped her hone her craft. Now, having earned a degree in Graphic Design from Trident Technical College, Melanie is clearly on the fast track to success – and a future spent pursuing her true love: art.

Participants are encouraged to sign up before August 31st to take advantage of the reduced $50 registration fee. After this date, prices will increase. For more information or to register, please visit www.bridgerun.com.
