The Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series returns this summer to James Island County Park for its 36th year! The 2026 races will be held on June 21, July 12, and July 26, with the Championship Race set for Aug. 9.
Sure to get athletes’ adrenaline pumping, each race in the Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series features a 600-yard freshwater swim, then a 12-mile bike ride, and finally a 5K flat, fast-paced run. Over the years, over 30,000 people have raced in this renowned series.
Participants must be comfortable swimming 600 yards in open water and riding a bicycle on roads open to traffic. Participants are encouraged to bring bike repair equipment and pre-filled water bottles.
Race Fees and Awards
Race fees are $70 for each race. Advance registration is required (no on-site registration) and spaces are limited, so register online here now. Registration ends the Wednesday prior to each race.
After each race, awards will be given to the top three men and top three women in the Open/Elite and Open/Elite Masters (40+) divisions. Age Group awards will be in five-year increments and will be three deep in all age groups. Prime awards will be presented to the top males and females in the individual events, and additional award divisions will also be available. Each participant is also given one shirt for the series. Participants who participate in multiple races will accumulate points throughout the series to be included in the Championship. A special Championship awards ceremony and post-race celebration featuring the Donut Daddy food truck will be held following the Aug. 10 race.
