Quack, QuackNew North Charleston Eatery Offers Grab n' Go Food, Eco-Friendly Provisions & More

They are neither chic or boutique, however Odd Duck Market is a unique eatery and gap market in the heart of the old village of Park Circle. Located inside a decades old brick building (formerly a church office) at 1082 E Montague Ave, Odd Duck is currently an early morning to late afternoon (7-3pm) grab n' go cafe that offers up fine provisions for humans in North Charleston as well as planet earth and beyond. However, once they get all their odd ducks (pun intended) in a row they plan to stay open 7-7pm daily, much to the delight of alien life forms travelling from far away! aaaaaaaaoddduck

While there are a host of dining options surrounding them serving up burgers, pizza, BBQ, and Mexican fare, Odd Duck prefer to think outside the Park Circle box, offering patrons one of a kind handheld delights, pre-packaged salads, sushi rolls, and sweet treats (courtesy of Saffron's), including refreshing beverages from local and regional vendors. Fresh bread and rolls for their sandwiches come complements of Saffron's as well (preferred local bakery), and believe me their sandwiches score a double D, ie 'delectable and distinctive'.

Far removed from a traditional deli, Odd Duck Market do tender a tasty Prosciutto and Coppa (Italian ham & sausage) sandwich complete with shaved parmesan, arugula, red onion and tomato, with a slather of Calabrian chili mayo for an extra smoky kick. Served on your choice of focaccia (herb encrusted Italian flat bread) or in a wrap. Carnivores will delight in the Hot Roast Beef layered in succulent thinly sliced beef under a blanket of Swiss gruyere and roasted tomato spread, before being topped with garlic mayo on ciabatta (crusty & textured Italian bread similar to a baguette). Nice way to tittilate the palate.

Want to play it a little safe, their base chicken salad, lightly seasoned and crafted with Dukes Mayo can be customized last minute with additional nuts, fruits, and diced vegetables to accommodate your taste. All their sandwiches including the sausage, prosciutto, or salmon breakfast varieties on fresh bagels are all made to order.

You can pop in for a quick grab n' go salad from the fridge, or feast on any of their four signature salads that come teeming with fruits and veggies. Making a morning run and carrying a sweet tooth, maybe opt for a blueberry or lemon poppy seed muffin. Java elixirs i.e. lattes, cappuccinos, espressos, and cold brews are delightfully blended due to Odd Duck's partnership with Charleston's own Second State Coffee Roasters. Fresh brewed bags available for at home use. aaaaaaaaoddduckbev

Not a bean lover, Odd Duck carry select beverages and energy drinks from the likes of Daytrip and Up To Good including a naturally brewed hibiscus and blackberry bubbly and Daytrip's CBD infused sparkling waters (tangerine, blackberry, & coconut pineapple). Go old school and enjoy Root 42, a deep caramel, vanilla & sassafras inspired root beer from New Creation Soda out of neighboring Georgia. Smooth and refreshingly yesteryear.

Let's not overlook their sweet treats. Odd Duck serve up several desserts that will arouse the taste buds starting with Smores and Lemon Bars, in addition to a heavenly oversized Ricotta Cheesecake, so good your Italian grandmother would approve. Trust me, portion control is not something Odd Duck concern themselves with. Most edibles can easily be shared by two.

Perhaps you're dropping by to pick up a few everyday provisions to add to your pantry or prepare for dinner at home. Odd Duck carry several rices, grains, and pastas, as well as sauces, condiments, seasonings and fresh produce from local providers and home grown farmers.

Grab a few frozen and chilled must haves including delicious and diverse dumplings from Charleston's own Sarah's Dumps, Sea Island's Organic Elderberry Syrup, Callie's Biscuits (another local), Revolution Gelato, Rainbow Sorbets & Ice Creams, or ice cream sandwiches made with joy from Nightingale out of Richmond Va. Eating healthy, there's always ready to go salads, sushi, and yogurts in the chill box. aaaaaaaaoddduckprov

Enjoy artisan dark chocolate courtesy of Colt's Bolt (peanut butter & almond) or get a quick boost with Kore Original CBD Gummies. Be sure to stock up on all natural dishwashing soap. Need to pamper your pet, pick up a bag of Jerky Dog Treats made with real superfoods from the fine folks with Wild Ranger.

From slightly decadent to eco-friendly and from everyday to 'I wasn't expecting that', Odd Duck carries something for distinguished palates. Odd Duck Market is most certainly unique, however they are not trying to be a square peg in a round hole. Rather they are trying to fit right in the Park Circle Old Village, by providing an alternative from the norm, allowing patrons something different.

Odd Duck's interior is warm and welcoming, providing a few tables for those who choose to dine-in, with a somewhat secluded open air patio out back which will prove favorable when they secure their beer and wine license, or at times they decide to host socials.

If you simply enjoy good tasting food and drink (including Vegan & GF) , sustainable and environmentally safe products, and supporting local and small businesses than your hard earned money will be happily spent and repurposed at Odd Duck Market. Find them on planet earth in in the low country at 1082 East Montague Avenue in North Charleston and on the world wide web at https://oddduckmarkets.com/
