Address On Montague Ave. Has Been A Welcoming Sports Bar & Grill For Over 15 Years, Now With a New Name

If you dug the digs at the former DIG in the Park, than you'll no doubt dig the new digs that took over the DIG. 'Can you dig it'! Located in the Park Circle community of North Charleston, Rocko's now resides at 1049 E Montague Ave. Despite a few distinct changes it's still a welcoming laid-back neighborhood sports bar and grill. 

Following a stellar 15 year run, the owner of DIG in the Park decided to step away, selling his business to Todd Justice, CEO with Tiger Duo Hospitality. Justice had been looking at another restaurant and couldn't resist the indoor-outdoor space with its ample tables, two covered patios, and great atmosphere.

After spending most of the summer undergoing renovations, Rocko's threw open their doors in late August, and the response has been awesome. Aside from the signage and a few cosmetics changes the exterior looks the same, but once you step inside you'll discover a noticeable transformation.

While the DIG was inviting it appeared compact. Rocko's re-vamped the dining area, moving the bar in the back, hanging multiple 100-inch TVs, as well as installing new roll up doors that supply more overall daylight. Safe to say, the interior presents more roomy, and there's no bad seat to watch the game.

But let's get to the good stuff. Realizing the DIG had a core business, mostly centered around good food & drink, Justice and the Rocko's team only tweaked the menu somewhat, doing away with items that didn't sell well, while keeping staples (under new names) that patrons expect at a sports bar & grill.

Rocko's menu concentrates mainly on pop in your mouth appetizers and your favorite handhelds, including signature burgers, tacos, hotdogs, and wraps. If you want to jumpstart your meal with a bit of southern panache, than maybe order the Carolina Deviled Eggs topped with candied bacon and sliced jalapeño, adding a sweet and spicy kick.

Or go old school and chow down on crispy Fried Pickles, served complete with house-made ranch dressing. Yum-yum! Nearly a dozen light bites including Loaded Fries, Pretzel Bites, Mozzarella Sticks, and six different flavored crispy bone-in wings served with ranch or blue cheese. Get several appetizers and you have a shareable meal.

The straight up sandwiches satisfy a variety of tastes. The Shrimp Po Boy topped with crunchy coleslaw, fresh tomato, and a slather of Cajun remoulade on a fresh hoagie roll is lowcountry to the max. Seafood lovers might want to reel in the blackened Mahi Mahi or the Big Fish sandwiches.

Like any American sports bar & grill, Rocko's grill and serve up freakin' amazing burgers. Carnivore lovers take note. All four signature burgers come with two 4 oz. (half pound) patties of comprised from their special blend of chuck, brisket, and short rib. Their namesake Rocko's Burger provides a double dose of meat, with the juicy burger topped with applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, and onion rings, with a smear of house-made BBQ sauce. 

Hell yeah they have a Smash burger on the menu. However, it comes with a honey siracha to add a sweet and spicy flavor combination. Their Brunch burger mirrors the Rocko double meat stack under a bed of fried egg, lettuce, tomato, and onions. No matter what time of day you enjoy either burger, they will arouse your senses.

Whether you decide on the chicken, steak, shrimp, or mahi tacos (three per order), they all are overflowing with protein and toppings. You won't go hungry if you choose the soft taco route. No matter which of the three frankfurter options you choose they all begin with Gleezy's famous Double Smoked Beef Brisket Hot Dogs, with Rocko's Classic Dog covered in Gleezy's signature Carolina sauce to further supply the zing! 

Don't think for a minute they haven't got utensils in the kitchen. Whether you choose to use a fork & knife for your loaded fries, they might come in handy for Rocko's half dozen plated dishes. Among them are four seafood entrees including a grilled Teriyaki Salmon or Blackened Mahi filet. Rocko's grilled chicken topped with honey mustard, bacon, and cheddar cheese is billed as the MVP, not doubt a 'most valuable poultry' dish. All come with a choice of two sides.

The remainder of the food menu consists of five salads, including several that are or could be adjusted to meet vegetarian appetites. All five kids meals come with a side and drink for just $10, with the majority of the menu ranging between $9 and $20. Handhelds come in at around $16. All in all affordable in the 2026 food & beverage world.

Rocko's adult beverages are cleverly titled. Shake together Jim Beam, Aperol, and Amaro Nonino, with some fresh lemon and you're sipping on a Paper Airplane. Paying homage to the street, the Montague Mule is laced with watermelon vodka, fresh lime, and ginger beer. Try to avoid brain freeze when nursing frozen Vodka, orange, and Vanilla Cream, better known to the bartender as an Orange Creamsicle.

Top shelf liquors, signature cocktails, margaritas, and frozen drinks, as well as a dozen plus canned beers to go along with $7 drafts. Non alcohol drinkers can choose between Coca-Cola products, Red Bulls, and sparkling mineral water. Liquid refreshment for all ages and all different tastes.

A new name, partial new look, same commitment to serving up good food and drink, all packaged in a welcoming atmosphere. Rocko's is rockin' Park Circle. It's great for lunch, dinner, after work cocktails, and a great place to gather on weekends to watch college or pro football indoors or on the covered patio where they have an additional bar.

As they are just getting their feet wet, they plan to have events throughout the week as well as daily specials. Happy hour 4-7pm weekdays with $2 off wine and $1 off liquors. So stay tuned North Charleston. Get this, Rocko's even caters!
