Ponte Vedra, Northeast Florida's Hidden Gem
Bevy Of Outdoor Activities Await Visitors Including Home of PGA Tour, TPC Sawgrass, Upscale Accommodations, Pristine Beaches & More
Jeff Walker, Travel Writer
Positioned 35 minutes south east of downtown Jacksonville and just 30 miles north of St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra Florida (including the beach) is a luxury coastal town recognized for its pristine white-sandy beaches and upscale resorts featuring high-end recreational amenities, including golf, tennis, and relaxing spa facilities. While Palm County in the southern part of the state touts 150 plus golf courses, Ponte Vedra home to the PGA Tour's headquarters at TPC Sawgrass and its signature tournament, The Players Championship is highly regarded as America's golfing capitol.
Known as 'Mineral City' a century ago, due to zircon, rutile, and titanium discovered in the sand, the mineral industry quickly faded after World War I, with townspeople seeking a more impressive name, similar to its sister city St. Augustine. With northeastern Florida having historical ties to Spain, they researched and found Pontevedra (Latin for old bridge) on the Spanish west coast of the Atlantic was an ideal fit, and thus by the dawn of the 1920's Ponte Vedra, Florida began to build a new bridge (pun intended) to the future.
Not long after British golfer and founding member of the PGA Herbert Strong designed a nine hole course on Ponte Vedra, and the city's long love affair with golf began. Five decades later real estate developers broke ground on the 1,100-acre TPC Sawgrass, with PGA Commissioner Deane Beman searching for a permanent location for the The Players Championship and the a new home for the PGA Tour headquarters.
Almost all of Ponte Vedra is completely contained within the area east of the Tolomato River. Because of this, it is a thin strip of land. Thus, due to their location, all off Ponte Vedra proper is within a few blocks of the ocean. And although Ponte Vedra boasts a population of roughly 30K, it is best described as a quaint and charming city with a small town vibe.
Just 15 miles off I-95 there are any number of affordable hotel chains along the highway and located on adjacent communities such as Atlantic or Neptune Beach. However if you want to take in the full measure of Ponte Vedra, three luxurious resorts come to mind, namely Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, The Lodge & Club, and Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa which is directly located on the TPC Sawgrass property.
Any of the three would provide exemplary four star accommodations. For my visit I stayed at the Lodge & Club (607 Ponte Vedra Blvd), an idyllic AAA rated Four-Diamond resort overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Approximately three miles from TPC Sawgrass, the Lodge & Club reflects their website's motto, even though you 'Feel a World Away' they want you to 'Feel Right at Home' in their distinctive Mediterranean-inspired resort, with amenities designed to take pampering to the highest level.
The lists of services and indulgences are remarkable, including four upscale restaurants and lounges (with their sister property (The Inn) including The Tavern, Inn Dining Room, Golf Club Dining Room, and Sea View Lounge. Another half dozen dining options around the property include The Oasis, an open-air seaside bistro recognized for fresh seafood and tropical cocktails, and the Beach Side Snack Bar offering up grab & go breakfast, lunch, and dinner items made up of salads, sandwiches, wraps, and handheld healthy fruit & veggie snacks.
Depending on your tee time, the Golf Club Dining Room overlooking Ponte Vedra’s scenic lagoon and iconic par three 'island' 9th hole is an ideal gathering for lunch or dinner, with the late day menu featuring Minorcan Conch Chowder, Blackened Salmon, and Dry Aged Steak, as well as their signature Ponte Vedra Club or a half pound Double Smash Burger (all the rage). If you're looking for menus that have broad appeal the dozen or more eateries at the Lodge & Club do not disappoint. Both locations serve deluxe style breakfast menus with above board hospitality. For a full list visit https://www.pontevedra.com/dining
Odds are you're going to have to sleep at the Lodge & Club. Whether you book the Presidential Suite or a Deluxe Room, ocean views come standard. Very little detail is overlooked, as each spacious room comes with vaulted ceilings, oversized marble bathrooms complete with separate showers and soaking tubs. From your balcony or terrace enjoy not only epic views of the beach, but additionally either the pool or courtyard. Bottom line, expect to be overwhelmed with the accommodations.
If the ladies aren't joining you on the golf course, they might want to take in a haven of relaxation and reflection at The Spa at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. With over 100 beauty and spa treatments, this 30K sq. ft. opulent oasis offers a gourmet cafe, friendship suites, and private couple suites, as well as an outdoor specialty pool and therapy grottos. Expect to be pampered from head to toe at The Spa. Bask in the tranquility at https://www.pontevedra.com/things-to-do/spa
Want more reason to stay. The Lodge & Club's 13.5 sq. ft. gym is more like a membership to a private fitness and social club. They provide everything and anything you need and more, including a heated lap pool, steam room, sauna, fitness classes, and personal trainers.
The Lodge & Club are also the Official Tennis Club of the ATP World Tour. Located less than three miles away, the Racquet Club is home to 12 well maintained and aesthetically landscaped Har-Tru Hydro Courts (eco-friendly). No matter what your skill level their USPTA and USPTR teaching professionals are ready to assist. Game set and match at https://www.pontevedra.com/things-to-do/tennis
The list of amenities at the Lodge & Club is seemingly endless. The Lodge & Club feature two spectacular heated pools, one set aside for adults only, with the family setting complete with a mini-splash park. If this is a family vacation, the lodge is equipped with daily activities for the kids, or the whole gang might enjoy games of croquet, bocce ball, cycling or just lying on the beach. So many options at the Lodge & Club! Escape to luxury at https://www.pontevedra.com/
Without question the Lodge & Club is a four star. However, their sister property 1.5 miles down Ponte Vedra Blvd. is every bit a five star destination, complete with a coffee shop, boutiques, spacious ballrooms, and more, with direct access to their club's golf course. Keeping up with their deluxe reputation, the Inn is currently renovating their tennis and pickleball courts, as well as a second level pool.
Several upgrades and improvements expect to be completed in 2026 with full completion no later than 2027. Despite the construction work, the Inn itself remains open, with both the Inn and Lodge & Club properties sharing use of the fitness center and world class spa.
If you're coming to Ponte Vedra for a golfing getaway then you're truly in a golfer's paradise. There are at least six golf courses located on Ponte Vedra Beach, including the two championship courses at TPC Sawgrass and the two courses at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. Other notable courses in the area include the Sawgrass Country Club, Marsh Landing Country Club, and the Palm Valley Golf Course. And yes, all of them are open to the public.
While all the aforementioned courses are spectacular, THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass is undoubtedly the most notable golf course in Ponte Vedra. Renowned golf course architect Pete Dye designed the layout, with the signature 17th hole island green easily one of the most recognized and most challenging par-3 holes in golf. Tee it up here first at https://tpc.com/sawgrass/the-players-stadium-course/
Decidedly, though open to the public, it's hard to book a round at TPC Sawgrass, however TPC's sister course Dye's Valley is an equally challenging, championship-level golf course known for its demanding layout featuring frequent water hazards on nearly every hole, undulating fairways, and large greens. Be-'Fore' you go visit https://tpc.com/sawgrass/dyes-valley-course/
Consider yourself a scratch weekend golfer, but still could use some improvement. You and your buddies could opt to experience the TOUR’s Performance Center at TPC Sawgrass. Their instructors are designed to help you improve your game and lower your overall score. A one night two day stay includes accommodations at Sawgrass Marriott Resort and Spa, breakfast, and two full days of lessons from PGA Professionals. This package is recommended for serious golf enthusiasts. Swing here first at https://tpc.com/sawgrass/performance-center-vacations/
Not golfing but still want to visit one of the PGA's most hallowed properties. TPC Sawgrass offers complimentary daily Storyteller Tours of its 77,000-square-foot clubhouse and iconic golf course holes. These 90 minute walking tours are led by volunteer docents and are available to the public (9-4pm) seven days a week. Tours begin at the top of each hour and are all encompassing, covering more than four decades of TPC history and some amusing back stories.
You'll come across the wall of clubs, including irons, wedges, and drivers donated by the pros who have won the TPC each and every year. You'll be equally enthralled by the case that holds the money clips players receive every year. Perhaps the most captivating point of interest along the tour is the artwork displayed in the entryway capturing some of the most iconic moments during the TPC's run. Tips provided to your guides are further passed along to local charities at the end of each year.
We're not done yet at TPC. The dining room is open to the public and carries an awesome menu. Maybe grab a relaxing lunch at NINETEEN which provides a seasonally changing menu while offering a panoramic view of the 18th green should you decide to dine on the covered porch. More on NINETEEN below. After lunch drop in their award-winning Golf Shop for some last minute signature merchandise, apparel or gifts. Tee it up your purchase online at https://tpc.com/sawgrass/golf-shop/
Seeking a sports entertainment complex that encompasses all your favorite pastimes, then I recommend visiting The Yards located in the heart of Sawgrass Players Club is a one-of-a-kind sports and entertainment venue. Talk about unique, The Yards is home to Florida's only 12-hole course and has been voted 'Best Public Golf Course' in greater Jacksonville.
America's fastest growing sport is pickleball, with The Yards home to nine courts, with three each dedicated to various skill levels. The Yards welcomes players of all skill levels and encourages people to socialize or catch up with fellow Pickle-ballers! Additionally, The Yards features 10 Har-Tru state of the art tennis courts, with clinics and private instruction available. Plenty of programs for players of all ages. Come play The Yards at https://www.playtheyards.com/
Without question golf is the main attraction when visiting Ponte Vedra. However, although golf reigns supreme and is par for the course (pun intended), there are a plethora of things to do in Ponte Vedra that don't necessarily revolve around 18 holes.
Hosting 140 plus acts a year, the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall is where visitors can catch rock n' roll and country music legends, alongside pop and contemporary Christian artists, as well as top name stand up comics. Now in its 14th season the former Baptist church was renovated in 2011 and seats 615 patrons for an intimate show, and 1100 for a standing room only concert.
From the exterior PVCH has the resemblance of a former house of worship, however it is modern, essentially has no bad seats, plenty of leg room, a coffee & snack bar, and accommodating lounges with an additional fenced in area when you want to pop outside under a starry night. If you want to be blessed (nod to former church) taking in a show at PVCH is truly inspirational (pun intended).
Managed and operated by SJC (Saint Johns County) Cultural Events, Inc., the same group that oversees the St. Augustine Amphitheatre aka 'the Amp', Ponte Vedra Concert Hall is passionate about promoting the arts. Seeking an entertaining night on the town visit https://www.pvconcerthall.com/
Taking a break from the golf course or tennis courts. Maybe you'd like to cast a line in the water and fish Ponte Vedra's intracoastal waterway. It's best to hook up (definite pun) with Palm Valley Charters. Ride with USCG licensed Captain Leon Dana and his Skeeter 230sx powered with a 200 Yahama for the fastest way to catch fish, guaranteed! They offer kayak, stand up paddle board rentals as well. First get lured in at https://palmvalleycharters.com/
Feel the need to experience the beauty of nature, perhaps a day or even a few hours at Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve will satisfy the urge. Covering more than 74K acres along the Guana, Tolomato, and Matanzas rivers, and the Atlantic Coast, the Reserve is an exquisite conservational habitat.
The upland areas include pine flatwoods, maritime hammocks, coastal strands, dunes, and mangroves (trees growing out of brackish waters), in addition to being home to aquatic and amphibious wildlife like dolphins, manatees, and sea turtles. Recreational activities run the gamut including picnicking, fishing, biking, bird watching, horseback riding, canoeing, and kayaking. With nine miles of nature trails it's a great place to walk the dogs.
After touring the Visitor Center, walking trails head back north to Ponte Vedra, stop at the GTM North Beach parking area. Check out the statue of Ponce de Leon. This is the exact locations where Ponce sited land - 30° 8 minutes North Latitude. This is also the preferred beach for shark tooth hunting. Great for the kids. Environmental enthusiasts and eco-friendly lovers begin your journey here at https://gtmnerr.org/
If you want to enjoy a more intimate ecosystem, or if you're an avid bird watcher I recommend spending some time at Bird Island Park. This naturally landscaped 20 acre sanctuary allows visitors to appreciate both flora and fauna, complete with an observation deck, birdhouses, educational signs, interactive art sculptures, wetland areas, and a scenic boardwalk. An ideal getaway for scheduling a picnic for two or with whole family.
Bird Island Park offers a free walking audio tour featuring 15 stops where guests are provided short stories on northeast Florida's ecosystems, including history on the American alligator, various reptiles, the great horned owl, and many other birds indigenous to the region. Learn more at https://www.sjcfl.us/parks_trails/bird-island-park/
Want even a more low key family friendly outdoor getaway, consider Deleon Shores Park. Rather small (4 acres) compared to Bird Island, Deleon Shores offers plenty of fun activities and recreational things to do. Two basketball courts, a tennis court, a skate park, a dog park, and a kids’ play area await visitors to Deleon Shores Park. Open dawn to dusk and online at https://www.sjcfl.us/parks_trails/deleon-shores-park/
There are several beaches surrounding Ponte Vedra and even more on either side of the city. Famous for its pink, coquina-sand, which is great for finding shark teeth and shells (great for the little ones), Mickler's Landing Beach and Beachfront Park at southern end of Ponte Vedra Beach is among the most popular.
The park offers amenities like restrooms, outdoor showers, parking, and a handicapped-accessible dune walkover to the beach. Visitors can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, walking, surf fishing, and searching for shells and shark teeth, especially early in the morning to avoid crowds and find the best treasures. Open sunrise to sunset. Soak up the sun and the surf at https://www.sjcfl.us/parks_trails/micklers-landing-beachfront-park/
Want to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Atlantic, Neptune, and Jacksonville beaches then maybe a two or three hour excursion on an electric trike from Eco Beach Tours. Enjoy a crafted digital GPS-driven tours providing you exclusive perks at every dining, sipping, and shopping location along the way. Offering sunrise and sunset tours as well. Explore Ponte Vedra and the surrounding sand and surf on three wheels at https://ecobeachtours.com/
Do you fancy famed picturesque thoroughfares? Perhaps you'd enjoy a pleasant self-directed audio tour of special sites along the A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway. This 70 mile stretch through St. Johns and Flagler counties is designed for listening, driving, and or stopping at various locations to enhance your experience. Navigate the natural beauty of this mostly two lane roadway at https://scenica1a.org/
Have the 'urge to splurge' on some shopping with a few sides of food & beverage. Locals congregate on a regular basis at Sawgrass Village. Situated 35 miles from downtown Jacksonville and 25 miles north of St. Augustine, Sawgrass Village is considered the 'new town square' of Ponte Vedra.
Three dozen businesses await you including award-winning restaurants, boutique shops, art galleries, home decor, and service retailers. Their open-air main street format attracts visitors looking for unique gifts and one of kind memories during their stay on Ponte Vedra. There's even a Publix in case you want to store up items in your hotel room. Take the full tour at https://sawgrassvillagejax.com/
There are plenty of fine retailers in Sawgrass Village however, if you're a chocolate lover I recommend you don't leave the shopping center without popping in Peterbrooke Chocolatiers. Creating American chocolates from a European tradition Peterbrooke has been greater Jacksonville's preferred chocolatier since founder and renowned chocolate expert Phyllis Lockwood Geiger opened the first shop in San Marco back in 1983.
Two dozen stores (including shops in AL & NC) and four decades later Peterbrooke are famous for their hand-made sea-salt caramels, decadent truffles, rich confections, and uniquely designed corporate gifts, as well as a cornucopia of pop in your mouth sweet & salty edibles dipped in white, milk, and dark chocolate. It's hard to imagine patrons leaving without purchasing their signature popcorn drizzled in luscious creamy chocolate. Of course there's always chocolate covered pretzels, potato chips, oreos, graham crackers, and strawberries.
Peterbrooke's Handmade Gourmet Dubai Chocolate Bars have become all the rage, crafted from silky smooth chocolate and blended with pistachio, tahini, and roasted kadayif (strands of golden pastry) to add a right amount of nutty flavor and crispy texture. Need a gift for the person who's tending your garden or watching your pets while you're on vacation. Bringing them home a gift basket or a box of designer chocolates is a sweet (pun intended) way to say thank you. Their artisans can create just about anything and any shape into a chocolate masterpiece. Unwrap endless joy at https://www.peterbrooke.com/
Depending how long your stay is in Ponte Vedra, there are several entertainment options on either side of the city. Venture approximately 30 minutes north and you can maybe catch a concert or a event at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, home to the Jacksonville Icemen, a minor league ice hockey team in the ECHL. Maybe it's pro football season, allowing you to catch the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL at EverBank Stadium. Discover more at https://arena.jaxevents.com/
Just 30 minutes to the south you'll find the St. Augustine Amphitheater aka 'the Amp'. This 4800 seat venue hosts some of the hottest bands touring today. You can see veteran acts from the world of rock, pop, blues, country, and contemporary Christian music at 'the Amp'. Be 'Amp-lified' at https://www.theamp.com/
If you're staying at any of the resorts you'll have a plethora of options when it comes to food and drink. Most offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as weekend brunch. Finished with your morning round of golf or teeing it up later in the day, then consider lunch at NINETEEN at TPC Sawgrass. Their award winning eatery features your favorite midday fare including a Philly Cheesesteak and a Smash Burger on a Japanese milk bun. Hardly anyone visiting NINETEEN dines in for lunch without ordering their signature oversized pretzel that comes on a signature stand reflecting two golf clubs. It's a great shared starter that goes even better with a nice cold beer.
While their lunch is par for the course at NINETEEN , their dinner menu is more akin to carding an ace, renowned for their Short Rib Pasta dish, 16oz Prime Boneless Ribeye, and Pan Seared Scallops. Eating lighter in the evening, maybe share an Artisanal Cheese & Charcuterie board with over 800 wine selections, 12 rotating draft beers, and seasonal craft cocktails. Leave room for Butterscotch Bread Pudding or Seven Layer Cake with a cordial. Note their dress code. Tee up your meal at https://tpc.com/sawgrass/dining/
Open for dinner Wednesday-Sunday 3-9pm and Sunday brunch 10-3pm, Lynda's located at the South Ponte Vedra Ocean Club offers an unparalleled beachside casual dining experience. Enjoy surf and turf favs alongside cocktails all with an ocean view. Lynda's is famous for the Aged Prime Rib dinner, Blackened Ahi Tuna, seafood starters, and Build Your Own Flatbreads. Bread Pudding is all the rage in Ponte Vedra, and theirs comes with blueberry toffee and white chocolate rum sauce. Yum yum!

Helmed by Chef Michel Richardson, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Las Vegas, their 300 seat oceanfront dining hall is an deal setting for everything from intimate dinners to large celebrations. Begin your five-star culinary journey at https://www.spvoceanclub.com/kids-menu/
Staying at the Lodge & Club, but not having dinner on the property, perhaps take a leisurely two minute stroll down to 619 Ponte Vedra Blvd and dine at 1912 Ocean Bar & Rooftop. Situated nicely inside second and third floors of an all-new venue at Sawgrass Marriott's Cabana Beach Club & Spa, 1912 offers indoor and outdoor seating providing spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Dine on fresh seafood, seared fresh cut tenderloin, a half oven roasted spiced chicken, fire-breads, and small plates, while sipping on finely crafted cocktails and select wines. Maybe start with a bowl of she crab soup or 10 plump chilled shrimp. Coffee and cocoa lovers might want to save a little room for their Creamy Espresso Martini Bombe i.e. a coffee infused mousse, chocolate dome espresso sponge cake adorned in Bailey's glaze with crunchy chocolate pearls. Awesome baby!
When the days are long and the sun sets well past 8pm, sitting on the rooftop basking in the sounds of the surf and gentle breeze it's close to paradise. Maybe just enjoy some starters and a few cocktails upstairs before moving into the second floor dining room. Of course you can stay on the rooftop and christen the evening in while hanging with family and friends. Your view begins at https://www.1912oceanbarandrooftop.com/
I could easily offer up a bevy of fine restaurants and everyday eateries in Ponte Vedra, but then the article would be seemingly endless. However I would be remiss if I didn't include one of the areas most trafficked dining establishments.
Just a few minutes off the beaten path (A1A), tucked nicely in a upscale neighborhood you'll come across Valley Smoke at 11 South Roscoe Blvd. Simply put, if you love incredible mouth watering BBQ and are a connoisseur of select bourbons then make no mistake, you must (emphasis on must) put Valley Smoke on your dining todo list while visiting Ponte Vedra.
Owned by operated by local restaurateurs Ben and Liza Groshell as part of their Southern Table Hospitality Group, Valley Smoke while focusing on barbecue and bourbon, offer up a variety of comfort foods alongside a full bar featuring cocktails, beer, and choice wines. Despite the spacious and elegant interior with a courtyard that sits on waterway, the pricing at Valley Smoke is uncommonly budget friendly given the quality of the food & drink, and the overall ambiance.
And although they maintain their home in Florida, Valley Smoke celebrate BBQ from around the country, serving up Heritage St Louis Style Ribs and Carolina Style Pulled Pork alongside their signature Valley Smoke Beef Brisket. If you're not ordering from the pit, you can dine on Southern Chicken Fry, steaks, seafood, or their namesake VS Burger. All of their dishes pair well with southern picnic style sides, and I can personally vouch for the mac n' cheese and the Hock & Greens (seasoned ham & collards).
From A to Z or at least from Alberta Cask Strength to Yellowstone Limited Edition, Valley Smoke carry over 250 preferred bourbons as well as 90 plus varieties of scotch and Irish & Japanese whiskeys. I could go on and on, but safe to say if you crave real affordably priced BBQ and primo potent potables, then I'd set your food & beverage GPS for Valley Smoke. Follow the wonderful aroma of smoked meat and smokier bourbon to https://valleysmoke.com/
Italian food lovers who live and work in Ponte Vedra consider Trasca & Co Eatery one of their go to destinations. Locals fully understand Trasco is known for more than two dozen signature panini creations and Mozzarella Meatballs, as well as their fresh made pizzas made daily using a secret family dough recipe. Voted 'Best Pizza on the Beach' and 'Best Fast Food & Sandwiches' in 2024.
Trasca's adjacent business Ponte Vedra Tap Room offers up a wide selection of local and craft beers, red and white wine, hard seltzers, and seasonal frozen drinks, with full access to their lunch and dinner menu. Shop before you dine and eat. Both are conveniently located inside Sawgrass Village. Begin your flavorful experience at https://trascaandco.com/
Although Florida is the self-proclaimed 'Sunshine State', it does occasionally fall prey to cooler temperatures and inclement weather. However if you're visiting Ponte Vedra between early spring and late fall, the climate is most accommodating, and if you're staying at the Ponte Vedra Lodge & Club, or it's sister property The Inn, then you can take in gorgeous sunrises while literally staying on the beach. Freakin' amazing!
Perhaps the one of many advantages to staying in Ponte Vedra is its accessibility to Jacksonville and St. Augustine, with the latter being easier to navigate. If you're spending 5 or more days in Ponte Vedra I strongly urge you to spend a day exploring St. Augustine. It's a great way to check it off your bucket list or too bookmark for future vacations.
Take in the history of 'America's Oldest City' and visit the Fountain of Youth, the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, hop on the trolley, or shop and dine along St. George Street. Simply follow A1A for about 30 minutes and your in the heart of St. Augustine. For more on all you can do in St. Augustine check out https://charleston.com/charleston-insider/arts-culture/greetings-from-beautiful-st-augustine-florida
There are any number of reasons to visit Ponte Vedra, Florida. Of course if you're a golf enthusiast than four, eight, or 12 of you could stay several days and play three or four rounds, before dining on good food and drink at night. Maybe end the day catching a show at the Concert Hall or check out who's playing at 'the Amp'.
Furthermore Ponte Vedra is ideal for a destination wedding during the warmer months. Stay at the Lodge & Club or the Inn and have the ceremony on the beach and utilize their banquet rooms for the reception. Aside from a 'guys golf getaway' (ladies too), Ponte Vedra is the perfect couples retreat, especially if both enjoy outdoor activities. With moderate weather nearly year round there is no bad time to visit Ponte Vedra, with September being typically less crowded (keep in mind).
Let's recap. Miles and miles of clean white sandy beaches, golf, tennis, pickleball, nature walks, shopping, incredible dining, and more. There's plenty of varied activities to keep visitors busy during a long weekend or a seven day vacation in Ponte Vedra. You can walk the beach, bike along the beach, or just relax with a book at the beach. Truth is whether exploring or dining out, you're never far from the beach.
Ponte Vedra, Florida welcomes everyone, and has something for all ages. And if you enjoy more history or nightlife St. Augustine or Jacksonville are less then 30 minutes on either side. For all you can do in Ponte Vedra and 'to know before you go' be sure to visit the areas most detailed information website at https://www.floridashistoriccoast.com/
Side note for golfers: There are several iconic golf courses in America that host the same event year after year. Most notably the Masters played at Augusta National, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head, and the WM Phoenix Open played at TPC Scottsdale. All except Augusta National are open to the public, which is why playing at TPC Sawgrass is a welcome challenge for serious dedicated amateurs. Should you decide to take on TPC Sawgrass during a visit to Ponte Vedra it's best to book weeks in advance. Just saying!
