Yappy Hour: It’s a Pooch-Friendly Party at James Island County Park Dog Park!

Wrap up the summer in style! Dogs and their owners are invited to James Island County Park on Thursday, August 22 for Yappy Hour: an afternoon full of live music, cold beverages, and fun!

Yappy Hour will take place in the park’s off-leash dog park and will feature a live music performance from Michael Duff, a performer and music producer based out of Charleston. Music starts at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m.

Beer, wine, Coke products and Dasani water will be available for purchase. Yappy Hour is free with park admission ($2 per person or free with the Gold Pass) and no registration is required.

The dog park at James Island County Park has acres for your pup to run and play. It features separate fenced-in sections for large and small dogs and a large lake where dogs can swim and play (wildlife is present so pets should be monitored closely). The park also offers a dog washing area, water fountains, benches and nearby restroom facilities.

Charleston County Parks encourages all dog owners to please visit charlestoncountyparks.com to review the dog park rules as well as our suggestions for pet etiquette, or “petiquette,” before visiting Yappy Hour or the dog parks. Outside alcohol, food and coolers are prohibited.

Yappy Hour event is presented by Crews Subaru and Veterinary Emergency Group, and also sponsored by Coca-Cola and your Charleston County Parks. For more information, please visit CharlestonCountyParks.com.
