Following up on their January announcement, the Charleston Library Society and The Charleston Trust U.K. last week announced details for a new collaborative literary festival taking place in Charleston, SC from November 2-5, 2017. The festival, called Charleston to Charleston, is modeled on, and formed in collaboration with, the Charleston Farmhouse in Sussex, home to the Charleston Festival, one of England’s premier literary gatherings.

The second iteration of the Charleston Arts Festival will once again celebrate area creatives working across genres like music, dance, visual arts, comedy, culinary arts, and more. The 2017 edition features periodic events from Friday, September 22nd until Saturday, October 28th.

Due to the great success of the Insurance "Spring Cleaning" Program, Green Law Firm is happy to announce that it has now become a permanent initiative for members of the community to take advantage of. Kwame Alexander, New York Times-bestselling author and 2015 Newberry Medal recipient, will be the featured speaker at this year’s Black Ink: A Charleston African American Book Festival.

Alexander will join at least 50 black authors and hundreds of readers for the second annual event on Saturday, September 23rd from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the main branch of the Charleston County Public Library. The event is free and open to the public.

Every Friday this August, the Town of Mount Pleasant will present the Waterfront Music & Movies series at Waterfront Park. The fun starts at 6:30 pm.
